Government Internal Auditor

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in public accounting and auditing, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy. As a Government Internal Auditor, you will be responsible for providing independent assurance to our government clients that their financial statements are accurate and reliable.To be successful in this role, you will need a minimum of five years of audit experience, preferably in the government sector. You should have a strong working knowledge of Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS) and Government Auditing Standards (GAS). Additionally, you should have a CPA license and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field. Responsibilities:

1. Perform independent assurance services to ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial statements for government clients.
2. Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS) and Government Auditing Standards (GAS).
3. Inspect and analyze financial records and documents.
4. Develop audit plans and strategies for government clients.
5. Analyze and evaluate internal controls, accounting systems, and financial procedures.
6. Prepare comprehensive audit reports and present findings to government clients.
7. Maintain a proper work flow to meet deadlines and client expectations.
8. Collaborate with colleagues to share audit experiences and best practices.
9. Monitor changes in accounting regulations and standards pertinent to government clients.
10. Provide advisory services to clients in relation to financial matters.
