- Develop and implement a comprehensive risk management framework for US bank clients, in alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Review and assess potential risks facing the firm's US bank clients, including credit, liquidity, and operational risks.
- Collaborate with various departments within the firm to ensure a cohesive and well-coordinated approach to risk management.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of risk management strategies and make recommendations for improvements as needed.
- Stay informed of industry developments, including changes in regulations and emerging risks, and provide guidance to senior leadership on potential impacts.
- Lead and mentor a team of risk management professionals, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, regulators, and internal departments.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and report findings to senior leadership, identifying potential areas of improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as compliance and legal, to ensure a coordinated approach to risk management.
- Provide strategic insights and recommendations to senior leadership on risk management issues and potential opportunities.
- Maintain a strong understanding of the firm's risk appetite and assist in establishing risk tolerance levels for US bank clients.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of risk management policies and procedures, ensuring they are in line with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and deliver risk management training and awareness programs for employees.
- Ensure all risk management activities are conducted with the highest level of integrity and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Continuously monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of risk management strategies and make recommendations for improvements as needed.
Strong Understanding Of Financial Markets And The Banking Industry: The Vice President Should Have A Deep Understanding Of The Financial Markets, Including Regulations, Trends, And Risks Specific To The Banking Industry. This Knowledge Will Help Them Effectively Identify And Manage Risks Within The Organization.
Extensive Experience In Enterprise Risk Management: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Minimum Of 7-10 Years Of Experience In Enterprise Risk Management, Preferably In The Banking Sector. They Should Be Well-Versed In Risk Assessment, Mitigation Strategies, And Crisis Management.
Leadership And Strategic Thinking Skills: As A Senior Member Of The Team, The Vice President Should Possess Strong Leadership Skills And The Ability To Think Strategically. They Should Be Able To Provide Guidance And Direction To The Risk Management Team And Make Critical Decisions In High-Pressure Situations.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Effective Communication Is Crucial In This Role As The Vice President Will Be Required To Interact With Various Stakeholders, Including Senior Management, Regulators, And External Parties. They Should Be Able To Clearly Articulate Complex Risk-Related Information And Build Strong Relationships With Key Stakeholders.
Advanced Degree In Finance, Economics Or Related Field: A Master's Degree In Finance, Economics, Or A Related Field Is Highly Preferred For This Role.
