- Develop and implement model risk management strategies in alignment with regulatory expectations and industry best practices.
- Lead and oversee the identification, assessment, and mitigation of model risks across the organization.
- Collaborate with various departments and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination of model risk management efforts.
- Conduct thorough reviews and evaluations of existing models and propose enhancements or modifications as needed.
- Stay updated on industry developments and regulatory requirements related to model risk management and incorporate them into the organization's practices.
- Provide guidance and support to junior team members, including training and mentoring.
- Prepare and present reports and presentations to senior management and regulatory agencies.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including regulators and auditors.
- Continuously monitor and assess the effectiveness of model risk management processes and make recommendations for improvement.
- Respond to and address any identified model risk issues or concerns in a timely and effective manner.
- Support the development and maintenance of policies, procedures, and controls related to model risk management.
- Collaborate with other risk management teams to ensure a holistic and integrated approach to risk management within the organization.
- Proactively identify and escalate emerging model risks to senior management and provide recommendations for mitigation.
- Drive a culture of risk awareness and accountability throughout the organization.
- Represent Morgan Stanley in industry conferences and events related to model risk management.
Extensive Experience In Model Risk Management: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 10 Years Of Experience In Model Risk Management, With A Proven Track Record Of Successfully Managing Model Risk In A Large Financial Institution.
Strong Understanding Of Financial Models: The Candidate Should Possess A Deep Understanding Of Financial Models And Their Applications In Risk Management. This Includes Familiarity With Various Types Of Models, Such As Credit Risk, Market Risk, And Liquidity Risk Models.
Excellent Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills: The Role Requires The Ability To Analyze Complex Data And Identify Potential Issues With Models. The Candidate Should Have Strong Problem-Solving Skills And The Ability To Propose Effective Solutions To Mitigate Model Risk.
Knowledge Of Regulatory Requirements: The Candidate Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Regulatory Requirements Related To Model Risk Management, Such As Sr 11-7 And Sr 15-18. This Includes The Ability To Interpret And Implement Regulatory Guidance In A Practical And Effective Manner.
Strong Leadership And Communication Skills: As A Vice President, The Candidate Will Be Responsible For Managing A Team Of Model Risk Professionals. Therefore, Strong Leadership And Communication Skills Are Essential To Effectively Lead And Develop Team Members, As Well As To Communicate With Senior Management And Regulators.
