Mainframe Engineer

In this role, you’ll serve as a key member of our IT team and be responsible for providing technical support and engineering solutions for our mainframe systems.To be successful in this position, you’ll need at least five years of experience with IBM mainframe systems, as well as a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field. You should also have strong knowledge of industry standard mainframe software and hardware, and be proficient in z/OS, JCL, COBOL, CICS, DB2, and VSAM. Responsibilities:

1. Provide technical support and engineering solutions for the mainframe systems.
2. Monitor and optimize the mainframe environment.
3. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to mainframe systems.
4. Develop, test, and implement mainframe software and hardware.
5. Document processes and procedures for the maintenance and optimization of mainframe systems.
6. Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
7. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
8. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of mainframe technology, software, and hardware.
9. Create and maintain reports related to mainframe system performance.
10. Coordinate with other IT teams to ensure successful implementation of projects.
