Linux Systems Administrator

Morgan Stanley is looking for a highly experienced Linux Systems Administrator to join our world-class IT team. This position requires a motivated individual with excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for working with cutting-edge technology. We are looking for someone who has a deep understanding of Linux systems, enjoys troubleshooting technical issues, and is able to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.The ideal candidate will possess at least 5 years of experience working with a variety of Linux distributions, such as Ubuntu, Red Hat, and CentOS. They should be well-versed in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, and Perl, and be comfortable with automation and configuration management tools like Ansible and Chef. The successful candidate must also have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to work independently in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:

1. Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers and related applications
2. Manage user accounts, system security, and system backup/recovery
3. Troubleshoot and resolve any system issues or errors
4. Monitor system performance and capacity, and make optimization recommendations
5. Develop and maintain system automation scripts
6. Create and maintain detailed documentation of system architecture and configurations
7. Coordinate with other IT teams to ensure successful deployments
8. Remain up-to-date on industry trends and best practices
9. Provide technical support and assistance to users
10. Develop and implement security and compliance standards
