Job Description

At Morgan Stanley, we are looking for a Lead Ontologist to join our team of innovators and disruptors in the tech space. The ideal candidate for this role should have a strong background, both academically and professionally, in ontology engineering, and be able to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical personnel. Our Lead Ontologist will play a key role in developing strategies to deploy ontology-driven solutions for our clients, working closely with our partners in the industry and our internal tech teams. If you’re passionate about data and technology, and have a desire to push the boundaries of what’s possible, this is the role for you.Required qualifications:• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field• 5+ years of experience in ontology engineering and data modeling• Proficiency in ontology engineering tools such as Protege and OWL• Ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical personnel• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills• Ability to work independently and as part of a team• A passion for data and technology

Responsibilities:

• Develop strategies to deploy ontology-driven solutions for Morgan Stanley’s clients • Create and maintain ontology-based systems and data models • Utilize ontology engineering tools such as Protege and OWL • Work with partners in the industry to develop innovative solutions • Collaborate with internal tech teams to ensure successful implementation of solutions • Provide technical guidance to non-technical personnel • Solve complex problems and identify solutions • Analyze data to inform decision-making • Present findings and solutions to stakeholders and other departments • Stay current with technological advancements in ontology engineering
