Job Description

We’re looking for a motivated and passionate Practice Apprentice Coder to join the team at Moffitt Cancer Center! This is an exciting role that will give you the opportunity to use your talents to help make a positive impact in the lives of cancer patients.In this role, you will be responsible for accurately coding patient encounters, abstracting data, and ensuring compliance with coding standards. We are looking for someone with strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT coding guidelines, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. We also require a high school diploma or equivalent, as well as a minimum of one year of coding experience in an acute care facility or physician office.If you’re looking for a role where you can use your skills to make a difference, consider joining our team as a Practice Apprentice Coder!

Responsibilities:

  1. Accurately code patient encounters using ICD-10-CM and CPT coding guidelines.
  2. Abstract data from medical records to ensure accuracy and compliance with coding standards.
  3. Ensure all coding is completed accurately and efficiently.
  4. Maintain current knowledge of coding standards and regulations.
  5. Communicate with other healthcare professionals regarding coding and data abstraction.
  6. Monitor and review coding activities to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  7. Provide feedback and support to other coders to help ensure accurate coding.
  8. Assist with coding audits and reviews.
  9. Assist with coding-related projects as needed.
