Job Description

Moffitt Cancer Center is looking for an experienced and motivated Molecular Genomics Research Specialist to join our dynamic and highly accomplished research team! We are seeking a creative and innovative researcher with an aptitude for molecular biology, genetics, and data analysis; someone who is passionate about improving cancer detection and treatment through cutting-edge research. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the molecular genetics of cancer and a strong commitment to providing the highest quality of care in a fast-paced environment.To be successful in this role, we require a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as Molecular Biology, Genetics, or Bioinformatics. The ideal candidate will also have 3 or more years of relevant experience in academic and/or clinical research, including experience processing and analyzing genomic data. A Ph.D. or other advanced degree in a relevant field is preferred. The successful candidate must also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team of researchers.

Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct research related to molecular biology, genetics, and data analysis to improve cancer detection and treatment.
  2. Process and analyze genomic data to support research efforts.
  3. Present research findings to colleagues, supervisors, and other stakeholders.
  4. Develop protocols and strategies for conducting research in a timely and efficient manner.
  5. Utilize bioinformatics tools to support research projects.
  6. Collaborate with the research team to ensure successful completion of research projects.
  7. Keep up to date with the latest developments in the field of molecular genetics and cancer research.
  8. Prepare reports, publications, and other documents as needed.
  9. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of research activities.
  10. Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and regulations.
