Responsibilities:

1. Review medical records to accurately assign diagnosis and procedure codes in accordance with coding guidelines.
2. Verify accuracy of codes by reviewing medical records and patient information.
3. Communicate coding questions and discrepancies to physicians and other healthcare providers.
4. Maintain familiarity with coding conventions, regulations, and changes in coding guidelines.
5. Participate in coding accuracy reviews and other quality control initiatives.
6. Prepare and submit accurate and timely coding documents.
7. Provide coding guidance and support to other staff members.
8. Respond to coding inquiries from staff or other healthcare providers.
9. Monitor coding performance and productivity.
10. Maintain coding database and records in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
