Job Description

Moffitt Cancer Center is hiring a Clinical Molecular Path Bioinformatics Analyst to join our bioinformatics team. We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated individual to play a key role in our efforts to understand and analyze genomic data for our research and clinical programs. The ideal candidate should have a passion for bioinformatics and be able to work well as part of a team.The successful candidate will have a strong background in bioinformatics, specifically in the area of clinical molecular pathology. He or she must have experience in analyzing and interpreting genomic data, as well as understanding of clinical laboratory processes and systems. The ideal candidate should also have a deep understanding of bioinformatics tools and algorithms, and be comfortable working with large datasets and performing data analysis. In addition, he or she should be detail-oriented, have excellent problem-solving skills, and be able to work independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities:

  1. Design, develop, and implement bioinformatics analysis and software tools to support clinical laboratory processes.
  2. Analyze, interpret, and visualize genomic data to identify patterns and correlations.
  3. Develop and update workflows and pipelines for data analysis.
  4. Develop and utilize computational methods for data analysis and modeling.
  5. Perform quality control and quality assurance on data.
  6. Design and implement experiments to validate results.
  7. Develop, maintain, and update documentation and tutorials for bioinformatics tools and resources.
  8. Collaborate with other team members to develop strategies and protocols for data analysis.
  9. Develop and maintain relationships with external collaborators.
  10. Attend conferences and seminars to stay up-to-date on advances in bioinformatics tools and methods.
