
Applied Research Scientist - Cancer Epidemiology
We are seeking a highly motivated Applied Research Scientist - Cancer Epidemiology to join our team at Moffitt Cancer Center. In this position, you will have the opportunity to contribute to cancer-related research initiatives and investigate the causes, distribution, and control of cancer, both in the laboratory and in the field. You will assess the impact of cancer risk factors, develop cancer prevention strategies, and provide data analysis and interpretation for reports and publications.To be successful in this role, you must have a Doctorate in Epidemiology or a related field, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in epidemiological research. You must also be able to demonstrate knowledge of cancer research and possess excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Responsibilities:
- Contribute to cancer-related research initiatives and investigate the causes, distribution, and control of cancer, both in the laboratory and in the field.
- Assess the impact of cancer risk factors and develop cancer prevention strategies.
- Provide data analysis and interpretation for reports and publications.
- Utilize epidemiological and statistical software such as SAS and/or R.
- Collaborate with other members of the research team to develop research projects and research designs.
- Prepare manuscripts, presentations, and reports for publication.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of cancer epidemiology research.
- Participate in scientific meetings and other professional activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
