
Pathology Technician Intern
We are looking for a highly motivated Pathology Technician Intern to join the team at Miriam Hospital. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of laboratory duties in the pathology lab while working with experienced professionals to gain a comprehensive understanding of the field. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in the medical laboratory field.The successful candidate must possess a passion for learning, a strong attention to detail, and a commitment to excellence. They will also have a high school diploma or equivalent and, ideally, prior laboratory experience. A Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.In this role, the Pathology Technician Intern will be expected to perform a variety of laboratory tests and procedures, as well as accurately document and report findings. The ideal candidate must have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team while observing all safety regulations. Responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of laboratory tests and procedures in the pathology lab in accordance with laboratory protocols.
- Accurately document and report findings.
- Maintain the laboratory in accordance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Work both independently and as part of a team.
- Communicate professionally with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.
- Collaborate with experienced professionals to gain a comprehensive understanding of the field.
- Provide assistance with clinical trials and research projects.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior pathology technicians.
- Maintain laboratory supplies and equipment.
- Remain up-to-date with the latest techniques and practices in the field.
