
OR Technician
Miriam Hospital is looking for an experienced OR Technician to join our team. We are looking for an individual who is compassionate, reliable, and detail-oriented to support our crucial operations. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of two years of OR Technician experience, an Associate’s Degree in Surgical Technology, and current certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA). Responsibilities of an OR Technician:
- Prepare the operating room for surgery, including setting up sterile fields and equipment.
- Assist the surgeon in the operating room by passing instruments and other items as needed.
- Monitor the patient’s vital signs during the procedure and alert the surgeon of any changes.
- Properly dispose of all medical waste and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Monitor the supply inventory in the operating room to ensure that adequate supplies are available for the duration of the procedure.
- Ensure that all the necessary documentation is completed prior to and after the procedure.
- Provide support and assistance to the patient’s family during the procedure.
- Maintain current certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
- Participate in continuing education and professional development activities.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent
Medical Terminology Course Completion
Previous Experience In A Healthcare Setting
Current Certification As An Operating Room Technician
