Miriam Hospital is looking for an experienced Lead Phlebotomist to join our team and provide exceptional care to our patients. We seek a compassionate and knowledgeable individual who can demonstrate the technical and clinical skills necessary to help our patients feel comfortable and safe during their visits. The Lead Phlebotomist will be responsible for ensuring that all specimens are collected in a timely manner and that all laboratory procedures are performed in accordance with the hospital's standards and protocols.To be successful in this role, you must have at least 3 years of experience as a phlebotomist in a hospital setting and hold a valid phlebotomy certification. You must also possess strong leadership skills, the ability to multitask and prioritize, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate must be able to work with a team of phlebotomists and have the motivation to meet the needs of our patients. Responsibilities of a Lead Phlebotomist:
• Ensure that all specimens are collected in a timely manner and that all laboratory procedures are performed in accordance with the hospital's standards and protocols.
• Supervise a team of other phlebotomists, providing guidance and instruction as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of all specimens collected, and ensure quality control of all laboratory results.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort during their visit, by providing the necessary support and assistance.
• Keep up to date with current laboratory procedures, techniques, safety protocols, and equipment.
• Ability to recognize and assess patient needs and provide appropriate care.
• Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and other hospital staff members.
• Participate in regular staff meetings and continuing education programs.
• Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and regulations.
