Legal Counsel

MetLife is looking for an experienced Legal Counsel to help shape our vision and lead our legal team. Our ideal candidate is an enthusiastic, detail-oriented, and innovative professional with a passion for the law and a commitment to excellence.The successful candidate will have a Juris Doctor degree and at least five years of legal experience in a corporate setting. We are looking for a candidate with experience in contract law, financial services, and corporate governance. The ideal candidate should also have excellent communication skills, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.We are looking for a highly organized individual who is capable of multitasking and prioritizing multiple tasks. The successful candidate will be a team-oriented individual with the ability to work collaboratively and effectively with all levels of internal and external stakeholders. A positive attitude and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are essential for this position.

Responsibilities:

1. Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and other legal documents.
2. Provide legal advice and guidance to the organization on a wide range of matters.
3. Identify and mitigate potential legal risks.
4. Monitor and analyze changes in relevant legislation and regulations.
5. Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws.
6. Research and interpret legal statutes, rulings, and regulations.
7. Represent the organization in negotiations and legal proceedings.
8. Provide training and guidance to other members of the legal team and other departments.
9. Maintain a high degree of confidentiality in all matters.
10. Perform additional duties as assigned.
