Job Description

MetLife is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Counsel - Legal Auditor to join our team. This individual will be a crucial part of our team, providing key audit and compliance services to ensure MetLife meets all legal and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have a law degree and 3+ years of experience in legal auditing, compliance, or related fields.We are looking for someone who has a strong understanding of legal and regulatory frameworks and a commitment to providing exceptional service. The successful candidate will be highly analytical, with an eye for detail and an ability to think strategically. The Counsel - Legal Auditor must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to build relationships and collaborate with stakeholders across the organization. In this role, you will have the opportunity to use your expertise to improve our legal audit process.

Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct comprehensive legal audits and investigations to ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
  2. Analyze legal and regulatory frameworks in order to identify areas of risk and develop strategies to minimize them.
  3. Develop, implement, and monitor policies and procedures to ensure the organization meets its legal and regulatory obligations.
  4. Provide advice and guidance to stakeholders on legal and regulatory matters.
  5. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of legal audits and ensure that appropriate corrective action is taken when necessary.
  6. Build relationships with stakeholders across the organization and collaborate to identify and address potential areas of risk.
  7. Prepare reports and other documents related to legal audits and compliance matters.
  8. Liaise with external legal advisors and other professionals as necessary.
  9. Monitor changes in legal and regulatory frameworks and advise management on potential impacts.
  10. Identify opportunities to improve the legal audit process and suggest ways to increase efficiency.
