  1. Conduct high-quality ultrasound imaging procedures for patients in a timely and efficient manner.
  2. Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the imaging process.
  3. Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring proper functioning and reporting any malfunctions.
  4. Collaborate with radiologists and other medical professionals to accurately interpret and report imaging results.
  5. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including images and reports.
  6. Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  7. Continuously stay updated on advancements and changes in the field of ultrasound technology.
  8. Provide excellent patient care and maintain a compassionate and professional demeanor at all times.
  9. Educate patients on the imaging procedure and answer any questions or concerns they may have.
  10. Participate in quality control and improvement initiatives to ensure the highest level of service for our patients.
  11. Communicate effectively with patients, coworkers, and other healthcare professionals.
  12. Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
  13. Attend and actively participate in departmental meetings and trainings.
  14. Stay current on all necessary certifications and licensures.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned by the department supervisor or management.

Job Qualifications
  • Accredited Ultrasound Technology Certification: Mercy Requires All Ultrasound Technologists To Possess A Degree Or Certification In Diagnostic Medical Sonography From An Accredited Program.

  • Knowledge Of Ultrasound Equipment: Candidates Must Have A Thorough Understanding Of Ultrasound Technology And Its Applications, As Well As The Ability To Operate And Maintain Equipment Accurately.

  • Strong Communication Skills: Ultrasound Technologists Must Be Able To Communicate Effectively With Patients And Medical Staff, Providing Clear Instructions And Explanations During Procedures.

  • Attention To Detail: Precision And Attention To Detail Are Crucial In Ultrasound Imaging, As Even Small Errors Can Impact Diagnosis And Patient Care. Candidates Must Demonstrate A High Level Of Accuracy And Attention To Detail In Their Work.

  • Patient Care Experience: Mercy Values Candidates Who Have Previous Experience Working With Patients In A Healthcare Setting. This May Include Experience As A Medical Assistant, Nurse, Or In A Related Role.
