Surgical Technologist

Mercy is searching for an experienced and compassionate Surgical Technologist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing assistance in surgical procedures and ensuring the operating room is safe, sterile, and well-equipped. The ideal candidate for this position should have an Associate Degree in Surgical Technology, a valid certification from the Association of Surgical Technologists, and at least one year of previous experience working in an operating room. You should be organized, detail-oriented, and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Responsibilities:

1. Prepare the operating room for surgery by setting up all necessary equipment and tools in a safe and sanitary manner.
2. Assist the surgical team by passing instruments and other supplies during the procedure.
3. Monitor the patient's vital signs and provide support to the patient before, during, and after the surgical procedure.
4. Maintain a sterile environment in the operating room at all times and adhere to all safety protocols.
5. Ensure all equipment is properly functioning and maintained.
6. Assist with transporting patients to and from the operating room.
7. Document patient records and outcomes of surgical procedures.
8. Provide postoperative care as needed.
9. Respond to emergency situations in a professional and timely manner.
10. Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
