Surgical Technologist

Mercy is looking for an experienced Surgical Technologist to join our team of medical professionals in providing the best care possible for our patients. Our ideal candidate is a hardworking and enthusiastic individual with a passion for quality healthcare.To be successful in this role, you should have a minimum of a surgical technologist certification and a minimum of one year of experience in a surgical setting. You should also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and demonstrate a high level of professionalism. Additionally, a strong sense of initiative and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team is essential.

Responsibilites:

1. Assist surgeons and nurses in preparing for and completing surgical procedures.
2. Set up operating rooms with necessary instruments and equipment.
3. Monitor patient status throughout surgical procedures and alert medical staff of any changes.
4. Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and medical staff.
5. Follow hospital protocols and regulations regarding patient privacy and safety.
6. Ensure that all necessary supplies and equipment are available and in proper working order.
7. Assist in medical emergencies and provide first aid when needed.
8. Document all patient care activities and maintain accurate records.
9. Prepare patients and assist surgeons during invasive surgical procedures.
10. Dispense medications and administer anesthesia as required.
