  • Completion Of An Accredited Surgical Technologist Program: A Qualified Candidate For The Surgical Technician Position At Mercy Should Have Completed A Formal Training Program In Surgical Technology From An Accredited Institution. This Ensures That The Candidate Has Received The Necessary Education And Training To Perform The Duties Of A Surgical Technician Effectively.

  • Certified Surgical Technologist (Cst) Credential: Mercy Prefers Candidates Who Have Obtained Their Cst Certification From The National Board Of Surgical Technology And Surgical Assisting (Nbstsa). This Certification Demonstrates That The Candidate Has Passed A Rigorous Exam And Meets The National Standards For Surgical Technology.

  • Minimum Of 1 Year Of Experience In An Operating Room Setting: Mercy Looks For Candidates Who Have Prior Experience Working In An Operating Room Complex. This Experience Helps The Candidate To Be Familiar With The Surgical Environment And Have A Working Knowledge Of Surgical Procedures, Instruments, And Equipment.

  • Knowledge Of Sterile Techniques And Infection Control: The Role Of A Surgical Technician Involves Ensuring The Sterility Of The Operating Room And Equipment, As Well As Maintaining A Safe And Infection-Free Environment For Patients And Surgical Staff. Therefore, Mercy Expects Candidates To Have A Thorough Understanding Of Sterile Techniques And Infection Control Protocols.
