As a Surgical Services Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our surgical team and ensuring the comfort and safety of our patients.   1. Provide support to the surgical team by assisting with pre-operative preparations and post-operative care for patients.
  2. Maintain a clean and organized surgical environment, including setting up and cleaning surgical equipment and supplies.
  3. Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes or concerns to the surgical team.
  4. Assist with patient positioning and transferring during surgical procedures.
  5. Ensure patient comfort and address any needs or concerns during their stay in the surgical department.
  6. Adhere to proper infection control protocols and maintain a sterile environment at all times.
  7. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare team members to provide the best possible care.
  8. Participate in ongoing training and education to stay updated on surgical procedures and techniques.
  9. Follow all hospital policies and procedures to promote patient safety and quality of care.
  10. Demonstrate compassion and empathy towards patients and their families, providing emotional support as needed.
  11. Collaborate with other members of the surgical team to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
  12. Assist with documentation and record keeping related to surgical procedures and patient care.
  13. Handle and dispose of hazardous materials and waste according to hospital guidelines.
  14. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned by the surgical team or department manager.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent

  • Completion Of A Certified Surgical Technologist Program

  • Minimum Of One Year Experience In An Operating Room Or Surgical Setting

  • Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced Environment And Maintain Attention To Detail.
