Job Description

Mercy is seeking a skilled Supply Chain Technician to join our dynamic team. As a Supply Chain Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of supplies throughout our healthcare system.   1. Manage Inventory: The Supply Chain Technician will be responsible for managing and maintaining accurate inventory levels of medical supplies and equipment. This includes ordering, receiving, and organizing supplies to ensure they are readily available for patient care.
  2. Monitor Supply Needs: The Supply Chain Technician will closely monitor supply levels and anticipate future needs based on usage and demand. This may require working with different departments and stakeholders to gather information and make informed decisions about supply orders.
  3. Coordinate Deliveries: The Supply Chain Technician will coordinate the delivery and distribution of supplies throughout the healthcare system. This may involve coordinating with vendors, arranging transportation, and ensuring timely and accurate deliveries.
  4. Ensure Compliance: The Supply Chain Technician will be responsible for ensuring all supplies meet regulatory standards and are in compliance with safety and quality standards. They will also track expiration dates and rotate stock accordingly.
  5. Maintain Documentation: The Supply Chain Technician will maintain accurate records of supply orders, deliveries, and inventory levels. This includes updating electronic databases, creating reports, and communicating any discrepancies or issues to management.
  6. Collaborate with Team: The Supply Chain Technician will work closely with other members of the supply chain team, as well as healthcare staff, to ensure a smooth and efficient flow of supplies. They will also collaborate with other departments to identify and implement process improvements.
  7. Problem-Solve: The Supply Chain Technician will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving any issues that may arise in the supply chain process. This may involve finding alternative suppliers, tracking down back-ordered items, or finding creative solutions to supply shortages.
  8. Communicate Effectively: The Supply Chain Technician must possess excellent communication skills to effectively communicate with team members, vendors, and other departments. They must also be able to effectively communicate any supply-related updates or issues to management.
