  2. Follow proper sterilization techniques and protocols to prevent the spread of infections.
  3. Inspect instruments for damage or defects and report any issues to the appropriate personnel.
  4. Assemble and disassemble medical instruments according to manufacturer's instructions.
  5. Adhere to all safety and quality control standards set by the institution.
  6. Keep an accurate record of all sterilization processes and ensure proper documentation.
  7. Work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure timely availability of sterilized instruments.
  8. Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote efficiency and safety.
  9. Attend training and development programs to stay updated with industry standards and techniques.
  10. Communicate effectively with colleagues and superiors to ensure smooth operations and patient satisfaction.
  11. Use critical thinking and problem-solving skills to resolve any issues that may arise during the sterilization process.
  12. Comply with all institutional policies and procedures, including infection control and safety protocols.

  14. Collaborate with the supply chain team to maintain an adequate stock of sterile instruments and supplies.

Job Qualifications
  • Certification In Sterile Processing: Candidates Should Possess A Certification In Sterile Processing From An Accredited Program, Such As The Certification Board For Sterile Processing And Distribution (Cbspd) Or The International Association Of Healthcare Central Service Materiel Management (Iahcsmm).

  • Knowledge Of Sterilization Techniques: A Thorough Understanding Of Different Sterilization Techniques, Including Steam, Ethylene Oxide, And Gas Plasma, Is Essential For This Role. Candidates Should Also Be Familiar With Industry Standards And Protocols For Sterilization.

  • Attention To Detail: The Role Of A Sterile Processing Instrument Technician Requires A High Level Of Attention To Detail To Ensure That All Instruments And Equipment Are Properly Cleaned, Assembled, And Sterilized According To Established Guidelines.

  • Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced Environment: Mercy Is A Busy Healthcare Facility With A High Volume Of Surgical Procedures. Candidates For This Position Should Be Able To Work Efficiently And Effectively In A Fast-Paced Environment, While Also Maintaining The Highest Standards Of Quality And Safety.
