  1. Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess speech, language, and swallowing abilities of patients.
  2. Develop individualized treatment plans based on evaluation results and patient needs.
  3. Provide therapy to patients with speech, language, and swallowing disorders using evidence-based techniques and interventions.
  4. Monitor and document patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  5. Educate patients and their families on strategies and techniques to improve communication and language skills.
  6. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as physicians and occupational therapists, to coordinate care for patients.
  7. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
  8. Stay current on advancements and best practices in speech therapy through continuing education and professional development opportunities.
  9. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards for speech therapy services.
  10. Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills to establish rapport with patients and their families.
  11. Adhere to ethical principles and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
  12. Provide guidance and support to Speech Therapy Assistants and other team members.
  13. Maintain a positive and professional demeanor while working with patients, families, and colleagues.
  14. Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development and improvement of departmental policies and procedures.
  15. Represent Mercy in a positive manner and uphold the organization's values and mission.

Job Qualifications
  • Master's Degree In Speech-Language Pathology: Candidates For A Speech Therapist Position At Mercy Must Possess A Master's Degree In Speech-Language Pathology From An Accredited University.

  • Current State Licensure: Applicants Should Hold A Current License To Practice Speech Therapy In The State Where Mercy Is Located. This May Require Passing A National Examination And Meeting Specific State Requirements.

  • Clinical Experience: Mercy Seeks Candidates With Significant Clinical Experience In Speech Therapy, Preferably In A Healthcare Setting. This Experience Should Include Working With A Diverse Range Of Patients, Including Children And Adults.

  • Knowledge Of Evidence-Based Practices: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Evidence-Based Practices In Speech Therapy And Be Able To Apply Them In Clinical Settings. This May Include Experience With Specialized Techniques Such As Augmentative And Alternative Communication (Aac).

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Speech Therapist At Mercy, The Ability To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals Is Essential. Candidates Should Also Possess Strong Interpersonal Skills And The Ability To Build Rapport With Patients And Their Families.
