
Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)

The ideal candidate has a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology, is licensed to practice in the state of Michigan, and is certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Responsibilities of a Speech-Language Pathologist:
• Assess patient’s communication and swallowing abilities, and develop individualized treatment plans to improve their skills • Provide direct patient care, including individual and group sessions • Educate patients, families and caregivers about communication and swallowing issues and strategies • Collaborate with other healthcare providers to ensure patient’s needs are being met • Document patient progress and complete necessary paperwork • Maintain a safe, clean and therapeutic environment • Stay up-to-date on best practices in the field of speech-language pathology and current research • Participate in professional development activities to maintain licensure and ASHA certification
