  • Develop and implement clinical documentation improvement (CDI) programs and initiatives to improve accuracy and completeness of documentation.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of medical records to identify gaps and inconsistencies in documentation.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers to educate and train on proper documentation practices.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on coding and reimbursement guidelines, providing guidance and support to other CDI staff.
  • Monitor coding and billing data to identify potential areas for improvement and work with relevant departments to implement changes.
  • Analyze and report on key metrics related to CDI, such as documentation accuracy and financial impact.
  • Keep up-to-date with industry changes and regulatory requirements related to documentation and coding.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including physicians, coding staff, and healthcare administration.
  • Serve as a mentor and resource for junior CDI staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care and documentation strategies.
  • Conduct regular audits and provide feedback to providers on their documentation practices.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of CDI policies, procedures, and training materials.
  • Collaborate with revenue cycle and coding teams to ensure accurate and timely billing and reimbursement.
  • Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by the CDI manager or healthcare administration.

Job Qualifications
  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Clinical Documentation Improvement, With A Focus On Inpatient And Outpatient Settings.

  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Or Related Field. Master's Degree Preferred.

  • Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (Ccds) Or Certified Documentation Improvement Practitioner (Cdip) Certification.

  • Strong Understanding Of Icd-10-Cm And Pcs Coding Guidelines And Experience With Coding Audits.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Educate And Collaborate With Physicians And Other Healthcare Professionals To Improve Quality Of Documentation.
