  1. Analyze and review clinical documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  2. Collaborate with healthcare providers to identify areas of improvement in documentation.
  3. Educate and train healthcare providers on best practices for clinical documentation.
  4. Develop and implement strategies to improve overall clinical documentation and coding processes.
  5. Conduct regular audits to identify potential coding and documentation discrepancies.
  6. Stay updated on industry regulations and guidelines related to clinical documentation and coding.
  7. Serve as a resource for healthcare providers regarding coding and documentation guidelines.
  8. Work closely with billing and coding teams to ensure accurate and timely reimbursement.
  9. Monitor and track documentation and coding metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  10. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss and address documentation and coding issues.
  11. Collaborate with IT teams to optimize electronic health record systems for efficient clinical documentation.
  12. Maintain accurate and organized records of all documentation improvement activities.
  13. Provide regular reports to management on documentation and coding improvement efforts and outcomes.
  14. Mentor and train junior clinical documentation specialists.
  15. Uphold the organization's values and mission of providing high-quality patient care.

Job Qualifications
  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Clinical Documentation Improvement, Preferably In A Hospital Setting.

  • Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (Ccds) Or Certified Documentation Improvement Practitioner (Cdip) Credential.

  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing, Health Information Management, Or Related Field.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Coding And Reimbursement Guidelines, Including Icd-10-Cm, Pcs, And Drg Assignment.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Educate And Train Healthcare Providers On Documentation Best Practices.
