At Mercy, we are seeking a dedicated and vigilant Security Officer I to join our team. As a Security Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of our patients, visitors, and staff members.   1. Monitor and patrol the facility to prevent and detect any potential security breaches or threats.
  2. Respond promptly and appropriately to any security incidents or emergencies.
  3. Enforce facility policies and procedures related to security and safety.
  4. Conduct regular security checks and inspections to identify and address any vulnerabilities.
  5. Maintain a visible and vigilant presence to deter potential security risks.
  6. Communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and staff to provide assistance and address any security concerns.
  7. Collaborate with other security team members to coordinate efforts and share information.
  8. Report any suspicious or concerning activities to the appropriate authorities.
  9. Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of all security-related incidents and activities.
  10. Attend and participate in training sessions to stay updated on security protocols and procedures.
  11. Proactively identify areas for improvement and make recommendations to enhance security measures.
  12. Adhere to all confidentiality and privacy policies when handling sensitive information.
  13. Follow all safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe work environment.
  14. Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor at all times.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned by the Security Supervisor or management team.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Security Officer I At Mercy Should Have A Minimum Education Level Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent To Demonstrate Basic Knowledge And Skills.

  • Cpr And First Aid Certification: Mercy Values The Safety And Well-Being Of Its Employees And Patients, And Thus Requires All Security Officer I Candidates To Have Current Cpr And First Aid Certification.

  • Prior Experience In Security Or Law Enforcement: Mercy Looks For Candidates Who Have Previous Experience In Security Or Law Enforcement, As It Demonstrates A Basic Understanding Of Security Protocols And Procedures.

  • Strong Communication Skills: A Security Officer I At Mercy Will Need To Communicate Effectively With Patients, Visitors, And Staff In Various Situations. Therefore, Strong Verbal And Written Communication Skills Are Essential.

  • Physical Fitness And Ability To Work Flexible Hours: A Security Officer I At Mercy May Be Required To Stand Or Walk For Long Periods, Lift Heavy Objects, And Work In Rotating Shifts. Thus, Physical Fitness And The Ability To Work Flexible Hours Are Important Qualifications For This Position.
