We are seeking a skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team as a Pre Procedure Phase II RN. In this role, you will play a crucial part in preparing patients for surgical procedures, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the process. Our ideal candidate is a confident and empathetic individual with a strong background in pre-operative care. A current RN license and BLS certification are required, along with a minimum of 2 years of experience in an acute care setting.   1. Conduct thorough patient assessments to determine their physical and emotional readiness for surgical procedures.
  2. Develop and implement individualized care plans for each patient, taking into consideration their specific needs and medical history.
  3. Educate patients and their families on the pre-operative process and provide them with necessary information and resources.
  4. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician and monitor their effectiveness.
  5. Monitor vital signs and assess for any changes or complications that may arise during the pre-procedure phase.
  6. Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure the smooth transition of patients from the pre-procedure phase to the operating room.
  7. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
  8. Anticipate and respond to any emergencies or urgent situations that may arise during the pre-procedure phase.
  9. Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families during a potentially stressful and vulnerable time.
  10. Ensure compliance with all hospital policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
  11. Continuously seek opportunities for professional development and stay updated on the latest advancements in pre-operative care.
  12. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment by effectively communicating with other team members and providing support and assistance when needed.

Job Qualifications
  • Current Rn Licensure: A Qualified Candidate For This Job Should Possess An Active And Unrestricted Rn License In The State Of Employment.

  • Bachelor Of Science In Nursing (Bsn) Degree: Mercy Values A Bsn Degree As It Demonstrates A Higher Level Of Education And Preparation For The Role Of An Rn.

  • Experience In Pre-Procedure Phase Ii: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 2-3 Years Of Experience In A Similar Role In A Hospital Setting, With A Strong Understanding Of Pre-Procedure Protocols And Patient Care.

  • Bls And Acls Certifications: The Candidate Should Be Certified In Basic Life Support (Bls) And Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (Acls) As These Skills Are Essential In Providing Emergency Care In A Healthcare Setting.

  • Strong Communication And Critical Thinking Skills: Mercy Looks For Candidates Who Possess Excellent Communication And Critical Thinking Skills, As These Are Crucial In Ensuring Effective Patient Care And Collaboration With The Healthcare Team.
