  1. Deliver Compassionate and High-Quality Care: The primary responsibility of an RN in our outpatient department is to provide compassionate and high-quality care to our patients. This includes assessing patient needs, developing care plans, administering medications, and providing patient education.
  2. Make a Positive Impact: As an RN in our outpatient department, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of our community members. This includes building relationships with patients, promoting health and wellness, and advocating for their needs.

  4. Maintain Documentation: It is the responsibility of the RN to maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including progress notes, treatment plans, and medication administration records. This is essential for providing continuity of care and adhering to legal and regulatory requirements.
  5. Collaborate with Healthcare Team: As a team player, the RN will collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care. This may involve participating in interdisciplinary meetings and providing input on patient care plans.
  6. Communicate Effectively: Excellent communication skills are essential for this role. The RN must be able to effectively communicate with patients, their families, and the healthcare team to provide updates on patient progress, educate on treatment plans, and address any concerns or questions.
  7. Demonstrate Critical Thinking: The RN must possess strong critical thinking skills to quickly assess and respond to patient needs. This includes identifying potential complications, implementing appropriate interventions, and evaluating the effectiveness of care.
  8. Adhere to Policies and Procedures: It is the responsibility of the RN to adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations. This includes maintaining patient confidentiality, following infection control protocols, and promoting a safe and healthy work environment.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Or Higher From An Accredited Institution: A Rn Working In An Outpatient Setting At Mercy Should Have A Strong Educational Background In Nursing To Provide High-Quality Patient Care And Effectively Handle Complex Medical Cases.

  • Valid And Current Rn License: A Valid And Current Rn License Is A Mandatory Qualification For Any Nursing Position, Including Those At Mercy. This Ensures That The Individual Has Met The Necessary Requirements To Practice Nursing And Is Up-To-Date With The Latest Medical Practices And Regulations.

  • Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience In Outpatient Care: Experience In An Outpatient Setting Is Crucial For A Rn To Effectively Manage Patient Care, Handle Emergencies, And Collaborate With Other Healthcare Professionals. A Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience Demonstrates The Individual's Proficiency And Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced Outpatient Environment.

  • Bls And Acls Certification: Basic Life Support (Bls) And Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Acls) Certifications Are Essential For A Rn At Mercy To Provide Emergency Medical Care To Patients. These Certifications Also Show The Individual's Commitment To Continuous Learning And Staying Updated With The Latest Medical Practices.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: A Rn Working In An Outpatient Setting At Mercy Must Have Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Interact With Patients, Their Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals. This Includes The Ability To Explain Complex Medical Information In A Clear And Understandable Manner And To Collaborate Effectively With The Multidisciplinary Team.
