- Conduct thorough assessments of patients with respiratory disorders and create individualized treatment plans.
- Administer and monitor respiratory therapies, including oxygen therapy, bronchodilator therapy, and ventilation support.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement a comprehensive care plan for patients.
- Educate patients and their families on respiratory conditions, treatments, and self-care techniques.
- Monitor and record patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
- Respond to emergency situations and provide critical care to patients experiencing respiratory distress.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
- Stay current with advancements in respiratory therapy treatments and techniques through continuing education and training.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control guidelines to ensure the well-being of patients and staff.
- Demonstrate empathy, compassion, and professionalism when interacting with patients and their families.
- Collaborate with other healthcare team members to ensure a seamless and coordinated approach to patient care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of best practices for respiratory therapy.
- Comply with all hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations, related to respiratory therapy.
- Assist with the maintenance and calibration of respiratory equipment and machines.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure the safety of patients and colleagues.
Active State License As A Respiratory Therapist.
Strong Communication And Critical Thinking Skills.
Bachelor's Degree In Respiratory Therapy Or Related Field.
Minimum Of 2 Years Experience In A Clinical Setting.
Cpr And Acls Certification.
