  1. Provide respiratory therapy services to patients with respiratory illnesses, including assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care plans.
  2. Administer and monitor respiratory treatments and therapies, such as oxygen therapy, nebulizer treatments, and chest physiotherapy.
  3. Monitor and interpret vital signs, arterial blood gases, and other diagnostic test results to determine appropriate treatment plans.
  4. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and modify care plans based on patient needs.
  5. Educate patients and their families on respiratory care techniques, equipment usage, and disease management.
  6. Maintain accurate and thorough patient records and documentation.
  7. Adhere to infection control protocols and ensure a safe and clean environment for patients.
  8. Respond to emergency situations and provide immediate care as needed.
  9. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development and implementation of best practices.
  10. Stay informed on the latest developments and advancements in respiratory therapy and incorporate them into practice.
  11. Maintain a professional and compassionate demeanor while interacting with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals.
  12. Adhere to ethical and legal standards of practice.
  13. Attend and actively participate in staff meetings, trainings, and continuing education opportunities.
  14. Adhere to hospital policies and procedures at all times.
  15. Demonstrate a commitment to providing exceptional patient care and improving the overall health and well-being of individuals in the community.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Respiratory Care Or Related Field: A Strong Educational Background In Respiratory Care Is Essential For This Role, As It Ensures A Thorough Understanding Of The Principles And Practices Of Respiratory Therapy.

  • Active State License: Candidates Must Hold A Valid State License To Practice As A Respiratory Therapist. This Ensures That They Have Met The Necessary Requirements And Have The Necessary Skills To Provide Quality Care.

  • Minimum 2 Years Of Experience: Mercy Is Seeking Candidates With At Least 2 Years Of Experience In Respiratory Therapy, Preferably In A Hospital Setting. This Demonstrates A Strong Understanding Of The Role And The Ability To Work Effectively In A Fast-Paced Environment.

  • Current Bls And Acls Certifications: Bls (Basic Life Support) And Acls (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) Certifications Are Required For This Role. These Certifications Ensure That The Candidate Has The Necessary Skills And Knowledge To Handle Emergency Situations.

  • Excellent Communication And Teamwork Skills: As A Respiratory Therapist, The Candidate Will Be Working Closely With Other Healthcare Professionals And Patients. Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills Are Essential To Effectively Collaborate And Provide The Best Possible Care.
