Job Description

  1. Provide compassionate and high-quality patient care to individuals with complex neurological and trauma-related injuries in the Trauma Neuro ICU unit.
  2. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients.
  3. Assess and monitor patients' conditions, administer medications and treatments, and document all care provided according to hospital policies and procedures.
  4. Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing education and support regarding their medical conditions and treatment plans.
  5. Respond to changes in patients' conditions and take appropriate action, including notifying physicians and implementing emergency protocols.
  6. Adhere to infection control and safety protocols to ensure a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
  7. Stay updated on current nursing practices and participate in ongoing education and training to maintain and improve clinical skills.
  8. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care, including electronic medical records.
  9. Assist in the orientation and training of new staff members, providing guidance and support as needed.
  10. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development and implementation of best practices in the Trauma Neuro ICU unit.
  11. Adhere to ethical and legal standards of nursing practice and promote a positive and professional work environment.
  12. Prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet the needs of patients and the unit.
  13. Demonstrate a strong work ethic and commitment to providing exceptional patient care.
  14. Participate in performance evaluations and goal-setting to continuously improve personal and team performance.
  15. Represent Mercy hospital in a positive and professional manner at all times.

Job Qualifications
  • Current Basic Life Support (Bls) And Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Acls) Certifications.

  • Active Registered Nurse (Rn) License In The State Of Employment.

  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing (Bsn) From An Accredited Institution.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In The Intensive Care Unit (Icu) Or Trauma Neuro Icu Setting.

  • Additional Certifications Such As Certified Neuroscience Registered Nurse (Cnrn) Or Trauma Certified Registered Nurse (Tcrn) Preferred.
