Bachelor's Degree In Nursing: A Minimum Of A Bachelor Of Science In Nursing (Bsn) Is Required For The Role Of A Registered Nurse In The Cardiothoracic Icu At Mercy. This Degree Provides A Strong Foundation In Nursing Theory And Practice, As Well As Hands-On Clinical Experience In Various Healthcare Settings.
Registered Nurse (Rn) Licensure: All Candidates For The Position Of Registered Nurse In The Cardiothoracic Icu At Mercy Must Have A Valid And Current Rn License Issued By The State In Which They Will Be Working. This Ensures That The Candidate Has Met The Educational And Competency Requirements Necessary To Practice Nursing Safely And Effectively.
Critical Care Experience: Mercy's Cardiothoracic Icu Is A Fast-Paced And Highly Specialized Unit That Requires Nurses With A Strong Background In Critical Care. Candidates For This Role Should Have A Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience In An Acute Care Setting, Preferably In A Cardiac Or Cardiothoracic Icu.
Cardiac Nursing Certification: Mercy Values Highly Trained And Specialized Nurses, And Candidates Who Have Obtained Certification In Cardiac Nursing, Such As The Ccrn (Critical Care Registered Nurse) Certification, Will Be Given Preference. This Certification Demonstrates Advanced Knowledge And Expertise In The Care Of Critically Ill Cardiac Patients.
