  1. Provide exceptional care to patients with cardiothoracic conditions.
  2. Utilize the latest technology and techniques to deliver high-quality and evidence-based care.
  3. Work collaboratively with a team of healthcare professionals to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
  4. Monitor and assess patient vital signs, laboratory results, and other diagnostic tests to ensure timely and appropriate interventions.
  5. Administer medications, perform treatments, and provide other interventions as ordered by physicians.

  7. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care.

  9. Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain and improve clinical skills and knowledge.
  10. Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families during difficult times.
  11. Advocate for patients' needs and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes.
  12. Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote patient safety and infection control.
  13. Continuously evaluate and improve nursing practices to enhance patient outcomes.
  14. Serve as a role model for other healthcare professionals by demonstrating professionalism, compassion, and dedication to patient care.
  15. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of evidence-based nursing practices.
  16. Comply with all legal and ethical standards of nursing practice.

  18. Provide guidance and support to less experienced staff and assist with their professional development.
  19. Collaborate with other departments and healthcare facilities to ensure continuity of care for patients.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing From An Accredited Institution: A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Is Required For This Position At Mercy. This Ensures That The Candidate Has Received A Comprehensive Education In The Field Of Nursing And Is Well-Prepared For The Challenges Of Working In A Specialized Icu Unit.

  • Current Rn License In The State Of Employment: In Order To Practice As A Registered Nurse, Candidates Must Possess A Valid Rn License In The State Where They Will Be Working. This Ensures That The Candidate Has Met The Necessary Educational And Clinical Requirements And Is Authorized To Provide Patient Care In That State.

  • Acls And Bls Certifications: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Acls) And Basic Life Support (Bls) Certifications Are Essential For Working In The Cardiothoracic Icu At Mercy. These Certifications Demonstrate A Candidate's Proficiency In Responding To Cardiac Emergencies And Ensuring The Safety Of Patients In Critical Care Settings.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Critical Care Nursing: The Cardiothoracic Icu At Mercy Requires Candidates To Have A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Critical Care Nursing. This Ensures That The Candidate Is Familiar With The High-Stress Environment Of An Icu And Has Experience In Managing Complex And Critically Ill Patients.

  • Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills: Working In The Cardiothoracic Icu At Mercy Requires Excellent Communication And Teamwork Skills. Candidates Must Be Able To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals In A Fast-Paced And High-Pressure Environment.
