- Coordinate specialist referrals for patients in the NEUROSURGERY department.
- Ensure timely and effective communication between providers regarding referrals and patient care.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of all referrals and related documentation.
- Communicate with patients and their families to assist with understanding and navigating the referral process.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for patients.
- Remain up-to-date on insurance and referral guidelines to ensure compliance and appropriate referrals.
- Assist in managing and prioritizing the referral queue to ensure timely and efficient processing.
- Advocate for patients and their needs throughout the referral process.
- Follow up with patients and providers to ensure successful completion of referrals.
- Continuously seek out ways to improve and streamline the referral process for the NEUROSURGERY department.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA guidelines.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families.
- Collaborate with other departments and team members to ensure a smooth and seamless referral process.
- Attend meetings and trainings related to referral processes and procedures.
- Adhere to all policies and procedures of the organization.
Relevant Education And Experience: A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In A Related Field, Such As Healthcare Administration Or Nursing, And At Least 2 Years Of Experience In A Healthcare Setting, Preferably In Neurosurgery.
Strong Communication Skills: The Ability To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Physicians, And Healthcare Professionals To Coordinate Referrals And Ensure Timely And Accurate Information Exchange.
Knowledge Of Referral Processes And Regulations: Familiarity With Insurance Requirements, Prior Authorization Procedures, And Other Referral-Related Regulations To Ensure Compliance And Minimize Delays In Patient Care.
Excellent Organizational Skills: The Ability To Manage A High Volume Of Referrals And Maintain Accurate Documentation, While Prioritizing Tasks And Meeting Deadlines.
Teamwork And Collaboration: The Willingness To Work Collaboratively With Other Healthcare Professionals, Including Physicians, Nurses, And Administrative Staff, To Ensure Seamless And Efficient Referral Processes For Patients.
