  1. Coordinate specialist referrals for patients in the NEUROSURGERY department.
  2. Ensure timely and effective communication between providers regarding referrals and patient care.
  3. Maintain accurate and organized records of all referrals and related documentation.
  4. Communicate with patients and their families to assist with understanding and navigating the referral process.
  5. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for patients.
  6. Remain up-to-date on insurance and referral guidelines to ensure compliance and appropriate referrals.
  7. Assist in managing and prioritizing the referral queue to ensure timely and efficient processing.
  8. Advocate for patients and their needs throughout the referral process.
  9. Follow up with patients and providers to ensure successful completion of referrals.
  10. Continuously seek out ways to improve and streamline the referral process for the NEUROSURGERY department.
  11. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA guidelines.
  12. Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families.
  13. Collaborate with other departments and team members to ensure a smooth and seamless referral process.
  14. Attend meetings and trainings related to referral processes and procedures.
  15. Adhere to all policies and procedures of the organization.

Job Qualifications
  • Relevant Education And Experience: A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In A Related Field, Such As Healthcare Administration Or Nursing, And At Least 2 Years Of Experience In A Healthcare Setting, Preferably In Neurosurgery.

  • Strong Communication Skills: The Ability To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Physicians, And Healthcare Professionals To Coordinate Referrals And Ensure Timely And Accurate Information Exchange.

  • Knowledge Of Referral Processes And Regulations: Familiarity With Insurance Requirements, Prior Authorization Procedures, And Other Referral-Related Regulations To Ensure Compliance And Minimize Delays In Patient Care.

  • Excellent Organizational Skills: The Ability To Manage A High Volume Of Referrals And Maintain Accurate Documentation, While Prioritizing Tasks And Meeting Deadlines.

  • Teamwork And Collaboration: The Willingness To Work Collaboratively With Other Healthcare Professionals, Including Physicians, Nurses, And Administrative Staff, To Ensure Seamless And Efficient Referral Processes For Patients.
