Job Description

Mercy Hospital is seeking experienced Mom Baby RNs to join our dynamic team.   1. Provide compassionate and skilled nursing care to newborns and their mothers.
  2. Utilize expertise in maternal and infant health to assess and monitor patients' conditions and provide appropriate interventions.
  3. Support families during the special and challenging time of welcoming a new life into the world.
  4. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
  5. Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and hospital policies.
  6. Document patient care and progress accurately and timely in electronic medical records.
  7. Educate patients and families on postpartum care, breastfeeding, and infant care.
  8. Monitor and promote the well-being of both mother and baby, including monitoring vital signs, assessing for signs of complications, and providing support for breastfeeding.
  9. Adhere to infection control protocols to maintain a safe and healthy environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
  10. Participate in ongoing education and professional development to stay current with best practices and advancements in maternal and infant health.
  11. Maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions with patients, families, and colleagues.
  12. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues to ensure a coordinated and seamless care experience.
  13. Demonstrate empathy, sensitivity, and cultural competence in all interactions with patients and families.
  14. Prioritize and manage multiple tasks and responsibilities effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  15. Promote a positive and respectful work environment by fostering teamwork and collaboration among colleagues.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing (Bsn) Or Equivalent Education And Experience.

  • Bls And Nrp Certifications.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience As A Registered Nurse (Rn) In A Postpartum Or Mother-Baby Unit.

  • Current And Unrestricted Rn License In The State Where The Position Is Located.

  • Strong Assessment And Critical Thinking Skills, With The Ability To Provide Comprehensive Care To Mothers And Newborns.
