
Polysomnographic Technologist

As a Polysomnographic Technologist, you will play a crucial role in diagnosing and treating sleep disorders for our patients. - Conduct sleep studies: Perform various sleep tests, including polysomnography, to diagnose and monitor sleep disorders in patients.
- Analyze data: Utilize specialized equipment and software to accurately analyze and interpret sleep data collected during sleep studies.
- Collaborate with healthcare team: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients with sleep disorders.
- Educate patients: Explain sleep study procedures and results to patients and their families, and provide education on sleep hygiene and treatment options for sleep disorders.
- Maintain equipment: Ensure all sleep study equipment is properly calibrated and maintained to ensure accurate and reliable results.
- Document and report findings: Record and document all data collected during sleep studies, and prepare detailed reports for physicians to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Monitor patient safety: Monitor patients during sleep studies to ensure their safety and well-being, and respond to any issues or emergencies that may arise.
- Stay updated on industry standards: Keep up-to-date with advancements in sleep study technology and techniques, and implement best practices to improve the quality of sleep studies.
- Maintain patient confidentiality: Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and maintain strict confidentiality of patient information.
- Foster a positive patient experience: Create a comfortable and welcoming environment for patients during sleep studies, and provide compassionate care to help alleviate any anxiety or discomfort.
- Adhere to protocols and guidelines: Follow established protocols and guidelines for conducting sleep studies, and ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards.
- Continuously improve processes: Identify areas for improvement and make suggestions for enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of sleep study procedures.
- Attend trainings and conferences: Participate in continuing education opportunities to stay current with industry developments and maintain professional certification.
- Uphold organizational values: Represent the organization with professionalism, integrity and compassion, and adhere to the mission and values of the organization in all aspects of the job.
Bachelor's Degree In Polysomnography, Respiratory Care, Or Related Field From An Accredited Institution.
Certification As A Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (Rpsgt) Through The Board Of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (Brpt).
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Conducting And Interpreting Polysomnographic Studies In A Clinical Setting.
Knowledge Of Current Sleep Disorder Diagnostic And Treatment Modalities, As Well As Familiarity With Electronic Medical Record Systems.
Excellent Communication Skills And Ability To Work Collaboratively In A Multidisciplinary Team Environment.
