- Diagnose and treat various eye conditions and diseases in pediatric patients, with a focus on ophthalmology.
- Conduct thorough examinations and assessments of patients, including visual acuity testing, eye muscle testing, and other specialized pediatric ophthalmology exams.
- Develop and implement treatment plans for patients, including prescribing medications, performing surgeries, and providing other medical interventions as necessary.
- Educate and counsel patients and their families on eye health and disease prevention, as well as potential treatment options and expected outcomes.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, optometrists, and other physicians, to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for patients.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records for all patients, including diagnosis, treatment plans, and progress notes.
- Stay current with advancements and developments in pediatric ophthalmology, and continuously seek opportunities for professional growth and development.
- Adhere to all ethical and legal standards of practice, while maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Foster a compassionate and supportive environment for patients and their families, and demonstrate a commitment to patient satisfaction and well-being.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the overall success and growth of the pediatric ophthalmology department.
Medical Degree: A Physician - Pediatric Ophthalmology At Mercy Must Possess A Medical Degree From An Accredited Medical School.
Board Certification: The Candidate Should Be Board Certified In Ophthalmology And Have A Subspecialty Certification In Pediatric Ophthalmology.
Residency And Fellowship Training: The Ideal Candidate Should Have Completed A Residency In Ophthalmology And A Fellowship In Pediatric Ophthalmology From A Reputable Institution.
Experience: A Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience Practicing Pediatric Ophthalmology Is Preferred, With A Strong Track Record Of Successful Patient Outcomes.
