  1. Perform comprehensive evaluations of patients with heart conditions, including diagnostic testing, physical examinations, and medical history assessments.
  2. Develop and implement treatment plans for patients with a variety of cardiac conditions, including heart disease, heart failure, and coronary artery disease.
  3. Utilize advanced technology and techniques, such as angioplasty and stent placement, to perform interventional procedures and improve patient outcomes.
  4. Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team, including primary care physicians, nurses, and specialists, to provide coordinated and comprehensive care for patients.
  5. Stay up-to-date on the latest developments in interventional cardiology and incorporate new techniques and treatments into practice as appropriate.
  6. Educate patients and their families about their heart condition, treatment options, and lifestyle modifications for optimal heart health.
  7. Maintain accurate and timely medical records, including patient progress notes, treatment plans, and test results.
  8. Adhere to all ethical and legal standards in patient care, including maintaining patient confidentiality and obtaining informed consent for procedures.
  9. Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and conferences to discuss patient cases and contribute to treatment plans.
  10. Serve as a mentor and resource for other members of the healthcare team, including residents and fellows, to promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  11. Continuously strive for excellence in patient care and contribute to the overall mission and goals of Mercy as a leading healthcare provider in the community.
  12. Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards to ensure a safe and effective work environment for patients and staff.

Job Qualifications
  • Medical Degree: A Physician-Interventional Cardiologist At Mercy Must Hold A Doctor Of Medicine (Md) Or Doctor Of Osteopathic Medicine (Do) Degree From An Accredited Medical School.

  • Board Certification: Candidates Must Be Board-Certified In Cardiology And Interventional Cardiology By The American Board Of Internal Medicine (Abim) Or The American Osteopathic Board Of Internal Medicine (Aobim).

  • Fellowship Training: Mercy Requires Candidates To Have Completed A Fellowship In Interventional Cardiology From An Accredited Program. This Additional Training Focuses On Advanced Techniques And Procedures Specific To Interventional Cardiology.

  • State Medical License: All Physicians At Mercy Must Hold A Current And Unrestricted License To Practice Medicine In The State Where The Job Is Located.

  • Experience: Candidates Must Have A Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience Practicing As A Physician-Interventional Cardiologist. This Experience Should Include A High Volume Of Interventional Procedures And A Track Record Of Successful Patient Outcomes.
