Job Qualifications
  • Medical Degree: The First And Most Important Qualification For A Physician In Emergency Medicine At Mercy Is A Medical Degree From An Accredited Institution. This Ensures That The Physician Has Received The Necessary Education And Training To Provide Quality Care To Patients.

  • Board Certification: Mercy Requires All Physicians In The Emergency Medicine Department To Be Board Certified By The American Board Of Emergency Medicine (Abem) Or The American Osteopathic Board Of Emergency Medicine (Aobem). This Certification Demonstrates A High Level Of Knowledge And Proficiency In The Specialty.

  • Residency Training: Candidates For A Physician In Emergency Medicine At Mercy Must Have Completed A Residency Program In Emergency Medicine. This Training Provides Practical Experience And Prepares Physicians For The Fast-Paced And High-Pressure Environment Of The Emergency Department.

  • State Medical License: In Order To Practice Medicine, Physicians Must Be Licensed By The State In Which They Work. At Mercy, A Valid And Unrestricted Medical License Is A Requirement For All Physicians In The Emergency Medicine Department.

  • Clinical Experience: Mercy Values Physicians With A Strong Clinical Background And Experience In Emergency Medicine. This Includes Experience In A Variety Of Emergency Situations And The Ability To Handle Complex Cases With Efficiency And Compassion. Previous Experience Working In A Trauma Center Or Teaching Hospital Is Also Preferred.
