
Physical Therapy Assistant

- Provide direct patient care: Work closely with patients to assist them in their rehabilitation journey, including conducting exercises, assisting with mobilization, and providing education on proper techniques.
- Collaborate with the physical therapy team: Work alongside physical therapists and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans for patients.
- Monitor patient progress: Evaluate and document patient progress, making adjustments to treatment plans as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Maintain patient records: Keep accurate and up-to-date records of patient treatments, progress, and any changes in condition.
- Educate patients and their families: Communicate with patients and their families about treatment plans, goals, and exercises to be done at home to promote continued progress.
- Ensure patient safety: Follow all safety protocols and work within the scope of practice to ensure the safety and well-being of patients at all times.
- Assist with equipment and supplies: Set up and maintain equipment used in physical therapy treatments, and ensure that all supplies are stocked and readily available.
- Adhere to policies and procedures: Follow all facility policies and procedures, including those related to patient care, safety, and documentation.
- Continuously improve skills and knowledge: Stay updated on developments and advancements in the field of physical therapy by attending trainings and workshops, and incorporating new techniques into daily practice.
- Promote a positive and caring environment: Uphold the values and mission of Mercy by providing compassionate care and fostering a positive and welcoming environment for patients and their families.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Work With Patients, Families, And Healthcare Team Members.
Associate's Degree In Physical Therapy Assistant Program From An Accredited Institution.
Current State Licensure Or Certification As A Physical Therapy Assistant.
Minimum Of 1-2 Years Of Experience In A Physical Therapy Setting.
Strong Knowledge Of Anatomy, Physiology, And Rehabilitation Techniques.
