Job Description

  1. Provide direct patient care: Work closely with patients to assist them in their rehabilitation journey, including conducting exercises, assisting with mobilization, and providing education on proper techniques.
  2. Collaborate with the physical therapy team: Work alongside physical therapists and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans for patients.
  3. Monitor patient progress: Evaluate and document patient progress, making adjustments to treatment plans as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
  4. Maintain patient records: Keep accurate and up-to-date records of patient treatments, progress, and any changes in condition.
  5. Educate patients and their families: Communicate with patients and their families about treatment plans, goals, and exercises to be done at home to promote continued progress.
  6. Ensure patient safety: Follow all safety protocols and work within the scope of practice to ensure the safety and well-being of patients at all times.
  7. Assist with equipment and supplies: Set up and maintain equipment used in physical therapy treatments, and ensure that all supplies are stocked and readily available.
  8. Adhere to policies and procedures: Follow all facility policies and procedures, including those related to patient care, safety, and documentation.
  9. Continuously improve skills and knowledge: Stay updated on developments and advancements in the field of physical therapy by attending trainings and workshops, and incorporating new techniques into daily practice.
  10. Promote a positive and caring environment: Uphold the values and mission of Mercy by providing compassionate care and fostering a positive and welcoming environment for patients and their families.

Job Qualifications
  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Work With Patients, Families, And Healthcare Team Members.

  • Associate's Degree In Physical Therapy Assistant Program From An Accredited Institution.

  • Current State Licensure Or Certification As A Physical Therapy Assistant.

  • Minimum Of 1-2 Years Of Experience In A Physical Therapy Setting.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Anatomy, Physiology, And Rehabilitation Techniques.
