
Phlebotomist
At Mercy, we are looking for an experienced and compassionate Phlebotomist to join our team. As a Phlebotomist, you will have the opportunity to bring comfort to our patients while collecting and preparing blood samples for laboratory testing. This is a critical role in our healthcare organization and requires the utmost professionalism and attention to detail.To be successful in this position, you must have a high school diploma or equivalent, and at least two years of related experience in a medical office or laboratory setting. Preference will be given to those with prior experience in the field of phlebotomy. Additionally, you must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively within a team. You must also be highly organized, have strong attention to detail, and demonstrate a commitment to patient safety and satisfaction. Additionally, the ideal candidate must be able to remain calm in stressful situations and demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills. Responsibilities:
- Prepare blood samples for laboratory testing in accordance with established protocols and safety regulations.
- Perform venipunctures, skin punctures, and capillary collection procedures in a safe and comfortable manner.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with relevant healthcare regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service and ensure patient satisfaction.
- Maintain a professional and compassionate demeanor in all interactions with patients and staff.
- Perform all duties with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work area.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
