  1. Dispense prescribed medications accurately and efficiently to patients under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
  2. Assist in the preparation and packaging of medications for distribution.
  3. Maintain inventory and stock levels of pharmaceutical supplies.
  4. Verify and enter patient information and prescription orders into the computer system.
  5. Communicate with patients and healthcare professionals to provide education and information about medications and potential drug interactions.
  6. Follow all safety and quality standards in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  7. Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment and work areas.
  8. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure proper patient care and medication management.
  9. Adhere to all confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.
  10. Continuously update knowledge of pharmaceutical products and industry developments.
  11. Act as a resource for patients and colleagues by providing excellent customer service and addressing any concerns or questions.
  12. Follow established procedures for medication storage, handling, and disposal.
  13. Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  14. Maintain accurate records and documentation of all pharmaceutical activities.
  15. Comply with all hospital policies and procedures.
  16. Uphold Mercy's mission and values in all interactions with patients, colleagues, and the community.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Ged Is Required For A Pharmacy Technician Position At Mercy.

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (Cpht) License: Candidates Must Hold A Current Cpht License From The Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (Ptcb).

  • Experience In A Hospital Or Retail Pharmacy Setting: Previous Experience Working In A Pharmacy, Especially In A Hospital Or Retail Setting, Is Preferred.

  • Knowledge Of Pharmacy Software And Technology: Candidates Should Have A Working Knowledge Of Pharmacy Software And Technology, Such As Medication Dispensing Systems And Electronic Health Records.

  • Excellent Communication And Customer Service Skills: Pharmacy Technicians At Mercy Must Have Strong Communication Skills To Interact With Patients, Pharmacists, And Healthcare Professionals. They Should Also Be Able To Provide Excellent Customer Service To Patients And Their Families.
