Pharmacy Technician

As a Pharmacy Technician at Mercy, you will be a vital part of the healthcare team providing excellent service to our patients. We are looking for a qualified, compassionate, and detail-oriented individual to join our team and help us continue providing the highest quality of care. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of experience working in a hospital or retail pharmacy setting. You should possess excellent customer service skills, be dedicated to accuracy and efficiency, and have a strong knowledge of pharmacy operations and pharmaceuticals. In addition to these qualifications, you should be able to multitask effectively, work well independently and as part of a team, and provide support to the Pharmacist as needed.

Responsibilities:

1. Assist Pharmacists with preparing and dispensing medications and other health care products.
2. Provide excellent customer service to patients.
3. Maintain records of patient prescriptions and other information.
4. Receive, count, and pour medications.
5. Stock shelves with supplies, medications, and other products.
6. Ensure accuracy of all medication orders.
7. Collect payment from customers and process transactions.
8. Mix medications in the appropriate dosages.
9. Answer customers’ questions about medications and health care products.
10. Follow all safety standards and procedures.
11. Maintain a clean and organized work area.
12. Assist with inventory management and ordering of pharmaceuticals.
13. Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
14. Provide support to the Pharmacist as needed.
