
Pharmacy Technician
We are seeking an experienced and reliable Pharmacy Technician to join the team at Mercy. Our ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to providing excellent customer service, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to the highest standards of safety and quality. The Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for providing technical support to pharmacists, as well as managing inventory and stocking shelves.To qualify for this role, you must have a high school diploma or equivalent, as well as a valid pharmacy technician certification. Previous experience in a similar role is also an asset. You should be an excellent communicator, have the ability to work well in a team environment, and be comfortable working with a variety of computer systems. In addition, you must have a strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical assistance to pharmacists and other healthcare professionals
- Assist with filling prescriptions and verifying accuracy of medication orders
- Manage inventory and stock shelves with medication and supplies
- Ensure compliance with pharmacy policies and procedures
- Maintain records and documentation as needed
- Answer customer inquiries and provide exceptional customer service
- Process insurance claims and payments
- Organize and maintain pharmacy supply areas
- Assist in training and mentoring new staff
- Monitor and manage medication expiration dates
- Troubleshoot technical and customer service issues
- Follow safety protocols and adhere to all regulatory requirements
