  1. Assist pharmacists in the safe and efficient delivery of medications to patients.
  2. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medication records.
  3. Prepare and dispense medications in accordance with physician orders and established protocols.
  4. Demonstrate a strong attention to detail to ensure all medications are properly labeled and packaged.
  5. Communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals to provide exceptional customer service.
  6. Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and safety standards.
  7. Participate in inventory management and ordering of medication supplies.
  8. Continuously update knowledge of pharmaceutical products, procedures, and technologies.
  9. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  10. Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure patient safety and quality of care.
  11. Follow protocols for handling, storing, and disposing of medications.
  12. Assist with insurance billing and processing of medication orders.
  13. Provide education and support to patients regarding proper medication use and potential side effects.
  14. Attend required trainings and meetings to stay current on policies and procedures.
  15. Adhere to ethical standards and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Educational Requirement For A Pharmacy Tech Position At Mercy Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Ensures That Candidates Have A Basic Level Of Education And Knowledge To Perform Their Job Duties Effectively.

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (Cpht): Mercy May Require Candidates To Be Certified Through A Recognized Pharmacy Technician Certification Program, Such As The Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (Ptcb) Or The National Healthcareer Association (Nha). This Certification Demonstrates A Level Of Proficiency And Knowledge In The Field Of Pharmacy Technology.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Pharmacy Terminology And Medications: A Good Understanding Of Pharmacy Terminology And Common Medications Is Essential For A Pharmacy Tech At Mercy. This Includes Knowledge Of Drug Names, Dosages, And Potential Interactions Or Side Effects.

  • Experience In A Retail Or Hospital Pharmacy Setting: Previous Work Experience In A Retail Or Hospital Pharmacy Setting Is Highly Desirable For A Pharmacy Tech Job At Mercy. This Experience Provides Candidates With Hands-On Knowledge Of Pharmacy Operations And Processes, As Well As Familiarity With Common Medications And Protocols.

  • Excellent Communication And Customer Service Skills: Pharmacy Techs At Mercy Are Often The First Point Of Contact For Patients And Healthcare Providers. Therefore, Strong Communication And Customer Service Skills Are Crucial For This Role. Candidates Should Be Able To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Pharmacists, And Other Healthcare Professionals, And Provide Excellent Service To All Customers.
