  2. Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care for patients.
  3. Conducting patient consultations to ensure proper understanding and usage of prescribed medications.
  4. Maintaining accurate records of medication dispensing and patient information.
  5. Monitoring for potential drug interactions and adverse reactions.
  6. Providing education to patients on medication usage, potential side effects, and proper storage.
  7. Reviewing and verifying prescriptions to ensure accuracy and appropriateness.
  8. Compounding and preparing medications in the appropriate dosage forms.
  9. Adhering to best practices and guidelines for medication safety and storage.
  10. Contributing to the development and implementation of medication-related policies and protocols.
  11. Participating in quality improvement initiatives and medication-related audits.
  12. Staying up-to-date with new medications, treatments, and pharmaceutical research.
  13. Maintaining a high level of professionalism and ethical standards in all interactions with patients and colleagues.
  14. Assisting in the ordering, stocking, and inventory management of medications and supplies.
  15. Maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  16. Providing excellent customer service to patients and their families.
  17. Adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
  18. Participating in continuing education activities to maintain licensure and stay current on industry developments.
  19. Mentoring and training pharmacy students and interns.
  20. Upholding the mission, vision, and values of Mercy in all job responsibilities.

Job Qualifications
  • Doctor Of Pharmacy (Pharmd) Degree: A Pharmd Degree Is A Mandatory Qualification For A Pharmacist Job At Mercy. This Degree Provides The Necessary Knowledge And Training In Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, And Patient Care.

  • State Licensure: All Pharmacists At Mercy Must Be Licensed To Practice In The State Where They Will Be Working. This Includes Passing The North American Pharmacist Licensure Examination (Naplex) And The Multistate Pharmacy Jurisprudence Examination (Mpje).

  • Previous Experience: While Not Always A Requirement, Previous Experience As A Pharmacist Is Highly Valued At Mercy. This Can Include Working In A Hospital, Retail Pharmacy, Or Other Healthcare Setting.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As Pharmacists At Mercy Work Closely With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals, Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential. This Includes The Ability To Explain Medications And Treatment Plans Clearly And Effectively.

  • Attention To Detail And Accuracy: Pharmacists At Mercy Must Be Highly Detail-Oriented And Have A Strong Focus On Accuracy. Mistakes In Medication Dosage Or Dispensing Can Have Serious Consequences, So Attention To Detail Is Crucial In This Role.
