  1. Safely and efficiently transport patients throughout the facility.
  2. Provide compassionate and quality care to patients during transport.
  3. Supervise and lead a team of patient transporters.
  4. Ensure timely and accurate transport of patients to their designated locations.
  5. Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals.
  6. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  7. Follow established protocols and safety measures for patient transport.
  8. Monitor and maintain patient comfort and safety during transport.
  9. Train and mentor new patient transporters.
  10. Collaborate with other healthcare team members to coordinate patient transport schedules.
  11. Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
  12. Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel.
  13. Maintain accurate records of patient transport activities.
  14. Participate in departmental meetings and continuous education opportunities.
  15. Act as a role model for professionalism, compassion, and excellent patient care.
  16. Attend to any other duties assigned by the supervisor or management.

Job Qualifications
  • Previous Experience As A Patient Transporter: A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience As A Patient Transporter Is Required For The Lead Position At Mercy. This Experience Should Demonstrate A Strong Understanding Of Medical Terminology, Patient Care, And Safety Protocols.

  • Excellent Communication Skills: As A Lead Patient Transporter, Effective Communication Is Essential For Coordinating And Directing The Transportation Team. This Includes Clear And Concise Communication With Patients, Medical Staff, And Other Team Members.

  • Leadership Experience: The Patient Transporter-Lead Position Requires Strong Leadership Skills To Effectively Manage And Mentor A Team Of Transporters. Previous Experience In A Leadership Role, Such As A Supervisor Or Team Lead, Is Preferred.

  • Knowledge Of Medical Equipment And Procedures: The Lead Transporter Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Medical Equipment And Procedures, Including Proper Handling And Transport Of Equipment And Patients. This Knowledge Helps Ensure The Safety And Comfort Of Patients During Transportation.

  • Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced Environment: The Healthcare Industry Can Be Fast-Paced And Unpredictable, And The Lead Patient Transporter Must Be Able To Handle These Demands With Professionalism And Efficiency. The Ability To Prioritize Tasks, Adapt To Changing Situations, And Work Well Under Pressure Are Important Qualifications For This Role.
