- Safely and efficiently transport patients throughout the facility, including to and from appointments, procedures, and other areas as needed.
- Ensure the comfort and well-being of patients during transport, taking into consideration their unique needs and any medical equipment they may require.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures, including proper handling and operation of equipment, to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and compassion when interacting with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare team members to coordinate patient transport needs and ensure timely and efficient transport.
- Maintain accurate records of patient transport, including documenting any necessary information or changes in patient status.
- Monitor and report any potential safety hazards or concerns during transport, taking appropriate action to address them.
- Assist in the maintenance and cleaning of equipment and transport vehicles to ensure they are in proper working condition.
- Attend and participate in training and educational sessions to stay up-to-date on safety protocols and procedures.
- Uphold the mission and values of Mercy by providing compassionate care to patients and their families.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Education Requirement For A Patient Transporter Job At Mercy Is A High School Diploma Or Ged. This Demonstrates Basic Academic Skills And Knowledge Necessary For The Job.
Basic Medical Knowledge: Candidates For A Patient Transporter Job At Mercy Should Possess A Basic Understanding Of Medical Terminology, Procedures, And Equipment. This Ensures They Can Effectively Communicate With Medical Staff And Safely Transport Patients.
